Objeción de conciencia

Here is the full article 1 of Law 413 of October 12, 1993, which states the right to conscientious objection:

Citizens who, in obedience to conscience, in the exercise of the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion recognised by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, by the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and by the International Covenant on civil and political rights, oppose to violence on all living beings, can declare their conscientious objection to any act connected with animal testing’.

The requests of conscientious objection must be completed by the objector in duplicate, and presented to the competent office he/she belongs (e.g. Department, University, Faculty) or to the teacher in the case of a university student.

One of the two copies will be retained while the other, properly stamped and/or countersigned, will be returned to the objector.
