This teaching contributes to the learning outcomes for the degree course in Literature, providing an extensive knowledge of film history.

Once the course is completed, students will have acquired a solid knowledge of the main methods used in film analysis, as well as of the most important moments in the film history, of the concept of formal innovation and of the economic, social and technological aspects of film culture.

Students will be able to use the tools they have acquired to offer stylistic analyses of films and to place them within the appropriate historical framework.

Students will be able to discuss the core moments in the film history, and to use the appropriate technical vocabulary to analyse films.
