The course is structured in two parts. The first involves the introduction to the main notions of Egyptian dialect, with the study of the main differences with Modern Standard Arabic: phonetic characteristics; syntax of the sentence and main grammatical rules. In this first part non-literary texts in Egyptian dialect with gradual and progressive difficulty will be analyzed and interviews, dialogues and songs in dialect will be listen. The second part of the course focuses on the study of literary works written in dialect.
