After a brief introduction to the themes and approaches of human geography, the specific objectives of the course are to provide a theoretical-epistemological framework of the cultural approach to the transformations of current territories, in particular through the analysis of the different meanings of some key terms of reflection contemporary geography. The course then proposes to review the different definitions or meanings of the concept of place and of derivatives that revolve around it in recent decades. The geographical reflection on the sense of place, will focus on the themes of physical characteristics, ecogeography, living, landscape, globalization, urban phenomena, productive activities, etc. with examples and references to case studies through the texts in the bibliography and in-depth seminars, useful for teaching.
Given the characterizing learning area, oriented to the acquisition of specific knowledge and skills, the specific training objectives of the course are listed:

Disciplinary objectives in the field of knowledge and understanding. Being able to elaborate and / or apply original ideas, even in research contexts
Disciplinary objectives in the field of application and understanding. Being able to solve problems, of an environmental and historical-geographical order, even in interdisciplinary contexts.
Disciplinary objectives in the field of independent judgment. Being able to integrate knowledge, manage complexity and formulate, however, judgments that open to environmental protection behaviors, etc.
Disciplinary objectives in the field of communication. Being able to report conclusions, motivating them to different interlocutors, using specific languages, including computer languages.
At the end of the course the student will be able to critically treat the theme of urban creativity, in relation to the conditions of urban contexts; to understand how development originally derives from the relationship between the local subjects, the territorial resources and the "mobile" resources circulating in the global networks.
