Objectives

At the end of the course, the students should be able to implement a treatment plan leading to the rehabilitation of patients affected by speech disorders in adulthood.

Contents

Presentation of theories and techniques for the rehabilitation of subjects affected by speech disorders in adulthood, in order to implement a treatment plan.

Extended Syllabus

- Definitions, classifications and etiology of communication disorders: aphasia, pragmatic language impairments, apraxia and dysarthria
- Assessment of comunicative language functions
- Treatment for aphasia
- Treatment for phonological, lexical-semantic and morphosyntactic deficit
- Rehabilitation for literacy and numeracy disorders
- Pragmatic-conversation therapy
- Rehabilitation and treatment for apraxia
- Rehabilitation and treatment for dysarthria

The teaching is structured in 40 hours of lectures with multimedia support.

The level of learning achieved will be evaluated with a final exam consisting of an oral and/or written test aimed to ascertain the standard of knowledge reached on the theoretical contents indicated in the program.
