Objectives

The course aims to complete the student's business-economic training with theoretical-methodological contents useful to deepen the management aspects of production.
Acquirable skills:

Knowledge and ability to understand
- recognize the various production configurations;
- illustrate the fundamental characteristics of traditional and advanced production processes;

Autonomy of judgment
- link economic, business and management aspects of industrial production
- carry out general evaluations concerning the economic aspects of production

Communication skills
- combine the technical and managerial terminology related to production management
- contribute to the resolution of problems relating to management aspects of production

Contents

The course analyses the main production paradigms of the 20th century, from the origins, to the “Lean production" models, up to the so-called "eco-compatible" production systems. It aims to provide the bases of knowledge useful for a critical analysis of the relationships between the organizational-managerial and technological aspects in industrial production and the role of the natural environment in influencing its dynamics

Teaching Methods

The course is structured in 72 hours of frontal teaching, divided into 2-hours modules, according to the academic calendar. The frontal teaching consists of theoretical lessons (lectures) and seminars held by business experts on the topics covered.

Evaluation methods

Verification of learning:

The final exam consists of an oral examination with an evaluation in thirtieths. The object of examination reflect those treated during the course. In order to pass the exam it is necessary a correct use of the terminology and a clear and concise exposition that highlights the logical connections between the aspects considered.
