The aim of the course is to provide knowledge to collect useful data for business management and to apply appropriate statistical methods for business in order to deal with decision-making problems that affect the complex phenomena of the entire company activity. For this purpose, in addition to the main theoretical methodological characteristics, the conceptual and logical aspects of the methods used that justify their application to concrete cases are also presented.

Knowledge and understanding:
The student will have to demonstrate knowledge of both collection and organization of business data techniques and statistical methods for business and economic analysis, according to available data and information needs.
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding:
The student must demonstrate the ability to apply the main statistical techniques for the analysis of business and economic phenomena.
Autonomy of judgment:
The student will have to demonstrate the development of a critical capacity for choosing, among the different statistical techniques introduced, the most suitable one based on the reference context and the type of data available.
Communication skills:
The student must demonstrate to understand the topics and the proposed methodology and to be able to illustrate the contents in a clear and appropriate way and to know how to apply them in business and economic contexts.
Learning ability:
The student will be able to carry out individual and group research on specific aspects of the subject, also in the professional context, and to compare own skills with the most recent approaches.
