Objectives

The student must know the nursing aspects of the main surgical pathologies and the related surgical procedures.

Contents

The program consists of all surgical topics in relation to organ-specific pathologies. All the main clinical syndromes related to organic pathologies of surgical interest are included.

Extended Syllabus

- General principles of surgery: antisepsis, surgical techniques, sutures, drainages.
- Inflammation and infection. Definition of wound. Bedsores.
- Outline of anatomy, physiology, pathology and surgical therapy of: esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum.
- Outline of anatomy, physiology, pathology and surgical therapy of: liver and biliary tract, pancreas.
