"G. d'Annunzio"
Basic mathematics
The course aims to provide the student with the basic physics knowledge of the main physiological processes of the human body and the principles behind modern medical instruments, and to provide the ability to solve simple problems about them.
Mechanics, fluid, electromagnetism and radiation.
Physical quantities and measurement units. Kinematics and dynamics of point particle. Energy. Fluids. Pressure and blood pressure measurement. Bernoulli equation and its applications to the cardiovascular system. Electric properties of matter. Coulomb law. Electric field and electric potential. Electric current. Electric current and measuring instruments. Electrical resistance. Ohm laws. Magnetic fields. Electromagnetic radiation. Ionizing radiation and its interaction with biological matter.
G. Miele, O. Pisanti, Introduzione alla FISICA, Casa Editrice EDISES and slides provided by the teacher.
The course consists of 8 hours of frontal teaching with theoretical lessons and examples of applications and solving simple problems.
The verification of the students' preparation will be made through a written test with multiple choice answer options related to the entire program with a possible subsequent oral integration at teacher’s discretion.
