Objectives

The course is aimed to defining the concepts of training and educational professions and at providing students with adequate critical tools to make them understand the great importance of the pedagogical reflection in the training of educational professions.  Expected learning outcomes. Knowledge of the development of the educational professions. The ability to expose the knowledge acquired. The ability to critically examine the historical evolution of the educational professions and the ability to critically examine the interaction and historical evolution of different cultural perspectives.

Contents

Starting from the historical analysis, the course analyzes the concept of training, the relationship between educational sciences and educational professions in different contexts, with particular attention to the most recent legislation on the subject.

Expected learning outcomes.
Knowledge of the educational evolution in the modern and contemporary age.
Ability to expose the knowledge acquired.
Ability to critically examine the historical evolution of formal, informal and non-formal educational professions and ability to critically examine the interaction and historical evolution of different cultural perspectives.

Extended Syllabus

The course analyzes the evolution and articulation of the educational sciences in the relationship with the educational professions, focusing in particular on the following themes.

- The concepts of education and training
- Theories of contemporary education
- Education and educational professions: evolution, areas and functions
- Comparison between thoughts and models
- Educational professions and the contemporary world
- Themes and problems of complexity
- Formal, non-formal and informal training contexts.
- The training of education professionals.
- The contexts of education professionals

Teaching Methods

The course consists of lectures, seminars and individual study. The planned activities can be supplemented by assisted study activities either / or by attendance at the conferences and study days.

Evaluation methods

Verification of learning:

Oral exam or written test (multiple choice items).
An oral exam of variable duration will take place, during which knowledge, skills and competences will be tested.

In case of written test, the exam is based on a multiple choice test (30 questions - 45 minutes)
