Objectives

The Industrial toxicology course is part of the integrated training activity of Hygiene and Toxicology. This module contributes to the training objective of acquiring skills on the prevention of diseases and occupational damage from chemicals in the industrial workplaces.

Contents

Pathogenic mechanisms of the main industrial chemical agents. Prevention of chemical risk and occupational pathologies from exposure to industrial chemical agents. Laws concerning the protection of health for exposed workers.

Extended Syllabus

Heavy metals, asbestos, particulate and nanoparticulate materials: chemical-physical characteristics and role in the etiopathogenesis of occupational diseases in industrial workers. Occupational Exposure Limit Values. Biological monitoring and prevention. Occupational and work-related pathologies from chemical substances present in industrial workplaces. Health surveillance. Legislative Decree n. 81/2008.
