Objectives

To provide students with knowledge on the main issues concerning women's health such as fertility regulation, preconceptional health , menopause, genital infections, diagnostic and surgical techniques of the main benign gynecological diseases. Know the female cancer screenings and the screenings of the main pathologies of pregnancy.

Contents

The program is mainly centered on prevention in the obstetrics and gynecological fields, in particular, in the gynecological field, oncological screenings and the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases will be treated, and, in the obstetrics field, prenatal screenings and the main obstetric pathologies. Topics relating to reproductive health will then be covered

. Review of anatomy and physiology of the female genital system. Sexually transmitted infections. Contraception. Cervical cancer screening. Notes on ovarian and endometrial cancer. The protection of female fertility and infertility prevention. Law 40. Preconceptional health of women. Notes on prenatal diagnosis techniques. Law 194. Basics of the physiology of pregnancy. Screening of the main pathologies of pregnancy.

Teaching Methods

The teaching is structured in 8 hours of frontal teaching, divided into lessons of 2 or 3 hours according to the academic calendar.

Evaluation methods

Verification of learning:

Oral exam. Written test with multiple choice quiz. The assessment will be expressed by a vote out of thirty.
