The Course will focus on 4 chapters concerning school, learning and teaching included by Petrarch (1304-74) in his Latin treatise ‘De remediis utriusque Fortune’, a masterpiece written at the crossroads between Middle Ages and Humanism. We will read and analyse the texts (full italian translations are provided in bibliography), in order to study both their lingustical features and their historical content.
