The work program is divided into two parts. In the first part, the presentation of the contents concerning the forms, the places and the historical development of the ancient theatrical performance, through the literary and documentary sources that have been preserved: the festivals, the actors, the costumes, the choir, the audience
The second part is intended as an example of what was acquired as general data of the first part; the reading and discussion in the class of an ancient theatrical text in its original language, in the specific case of Euripides’Hecuba, are the occasion for a historical, cultural-historical and specifically dramaturgical analysis of an ancient text proposed in critical edition, illustrated by a scientific exegetical commentary.
