The Degree Course in Economics and Commerce (CLEC) is established at the Department of Economic Studies and pertains to the School of Economic, Business, Legal and Sociological Sciences. CLEC is located in Pescara (viale Pindaro 42) and its coordinator is prof. Edilio Valentini. CLEC provides students with a sound knowledge in several areas of economics ranging from introductory microeconomics and macroeconomics to economic policy, finance and business administration. Beyond courses in economics and business administration students must also attend lectures in law, mathematics and statistics that supplement their expertise and provide them with both immediate job opportunities - in firms, cooperatives, non-profit organizations, banks, insurance companies, financial sector, public sector, and in the business and accounting consultancy – and a strong background to successfully continue their studies by either attending the Master in Economics and Commerce (CLEC-M) in Pescara or specializing in any other economic area. CLEC is organized in two different curricular paths:-Economics and Commerce -Economics and Finance. The former is characterized by a more general and normative background, and is mainly aimed at students interested in working at firms, cooperatives, non-profit organizations as well as in the public sector or as administrative consultants. The latter is more focused on the mathematical instruments that must be known in many fields of specialization in economics and finance, for instance in the field of financial risk assessment. The strong quantitative content characterizing this curriculum makes it a unique among the courses supplied at the University 'G. d'Annunzio'.
