The teaching contributes to the realization of the training objectives of the three-year Degree Course by enabling the student to know and understand the value and the function of the spectacularity on which the theatrical prose event finds its foundation in the modern and contemporary age; as well as to examine the texts [narrative, biographical, epistolary, diaristic, referential, critical and journalistic (chronicles, announcements, reviews)] that derive inspiration and 'reason to be' from the theatrical phenomenon.
Moreover, at the end of the course the student must be able to apply the acquired knowledge showing, through the use of appropriate communication skills, to know how to orientate with respect to the specific bibliography of the discipline and to understand the evolution of the representative and actor modes in relation to changes in cultural codes and literary currents of the historical period under examination. In fact, the acquisition of skills in understanding and critical evaluation of the development of the poetic reasons connected with the dramaturgical text is also important.
