The objectives here described are strictly related to the philosophical and theoretical approach of the disciplinary field which characterises the course.
The course aims to develop a critical work that analyses the reasons (which are important at philosophical level) of the problematic phenomenon of the human relationship in the cultural environment both of Europe (in a specific meaning) and of the Western world (in a wide sense). The course deals with the matter of the attribution of this state of crisis to the relation between people and countries. This complex study involves an active interconnection between different knowledge areas. In accordance with this point philosophy, culture and pedagogy will be used as essential tools of the analysis.
Furthermore, the course seeks to point out all the contributions, obtained from the readings, that could be useful to the reconsideration of the educational phenomenon. The re-elaboration of the educational strategies should take into account the international environment and also the challenges resulting from the current state of western civilization. The students will be able to draw the central issues of the educational phenomenon. Moreover, they will improve the knowledge in this area in order to identify the necessary skills to plan an educational intervention which is possible to actualize in a real context. In this way, the measures shall take into consideration the “risk” of the open-mindedness as a coessential element of the human relationship phenomenon in today’s context.
In line with the professional profiles and career opportunities, the students will master the skills related to their particular field in order to increase the argumentative abilities that are necessary for the problem solving as part of their future tasks.
