The lessons will focus on some cornerstones of Goffman’s theory of
stigma: virtual and actual social identity, the language of stigma, the
phenomenology of shame, the victimization, the secondary advantages,
the victim complex, the isolation of the stigmatized, the unsuitable
interactions, stigma and public opinion, the control of information and
personal identity, the social information, symbols of status and stigma,
the techniques for control of information.
