At the end of the course the student will acquire the skills to carry out educational interventions necessary for the early identification and limit the infectious risk and the most effective strategies to reduce the spread of infectious diseases also at international level.
The course aims to provide the necessary foundations to achieve the professional autonomy of future health assistants in the field of prevention of infectious risks, paying particular attention to practical aspects and operating methods.
Definition of infectious and communicable diseases. Mechanisms of host defense. The ways of transmission of the infection. Knowledge necessary to implement effective prevention of communicable diseases. Clostridium difficile infection. Antibiotic associated diarrhea. Prevention of infectious risk in airborne diseases. Prevention of infectious risk in diseases transmitted by contact. Prevention of infectious risk in vertically transmitted diseases. The methods of notification of infectious diseases.
