The language unit course provides students with a thorough grounding in the study of grammar, language style, and terminology concerning the field of Dentistry. Focusing on the specific language, the students’ knowledge of English grammar and style will be strengthened according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). With reference to grammar, the course unit will focus on past tense, future, modals, passive voice, and conditionals. An in-depth look at the style of English Scientific/Academic Writing will be provided.
Besides grammar, real medical and scientific discourse will be examined from a linguistic perspective.
To conclude, special emphasis will be given to medical terminology and style pertaining to readings and reading-comprehensions specific for health professionals.
