Objectives

PREVENTIVE MEDICINE I and II:
Acquisition of knowledge relating to the preventive instrument in order to make the health assistant a health worker able to apply preventive medicine strategies to the main human diseases.

APPLIED DIETETICS:
Acquisition of knowledge related to the proper nutrition of the individual and the dynamics of the relationship between nutrition and health.

METHODOLOGY OF THE PROFESSION OF HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT WITHIN THE HEALTH PROMOTION
- To Know the areas of competence and the reference contexts of the Health Assistant regarding health promotion;
- Know the principles, documents and conceptual foundations that inspire the Health Assistant regarding health promotion;
- Know the reference models;
- Know the approach models to promote health;
- Know the participatory and educational processes and methods towards individuals and the community;
- Acquire the skills necessary to participate in a group as an active tool to promote and support health education and prevention.

Contents

The course aims to provide the necessary basis for achieving the strategic objectives of health promotion, paying particular attention to the problems present in every phase of human life.
The course is divided into 4 modules:
Preventive Medicine I: 1 CFU
Preventive Medicine II: 1 CFU
Applied dietetics: 1 CFU
Methodology of the profession of health assistant in the field of health promotion: 2 CFU

Teaching Methods

The course is structured in lectures of 2 or 3 hours based on the didactic calendar. The lessons include a strong interactive component between lecturer and students.
Attendance is mandatory

Evaluation methods

Verification of learning:

The verifying learning method is usually oral and the student will have to demonstrate their preparation by treating the topics requested by the teacher in a clear and organized way. A written test can be provided in which the student will have to answer quizzes. multiple or open-ended questions. Multiple choice questions require a single correct answer and the test will be considered passed if the student has achieved a sufficient assessment.
The evaluation will be carried out using marks out of thirty.
