The course is divided into two modules.
The first module, of an introductory nature, will focus on the origins and developments of criminal anthropology in Italy and in various countries, in a comparative perspective.
The second module, of a monographic nature, will delve into some aspects through which to understand how the anthropological approach can contribute to the interpretation of criminal phenomena and will analyse the relationship bertene crime, culture and social practices in European and non-European contexts also through the analysis of case studies and ethnographic research. In particular, will be analyzed:
- the concepts of risk and danger; evil and wickedness; insecurity and vulnerability;
- “culturally motivated crimes”;
- female criminal anthropology;
- the contribution of forensic anthropology
