The course of study in Physiotherapy is a three-year degree course with limited enrolment, which aims at training professionals in the health field,in accordance with Ministerial Decree dated 14th September 1994, n. 741, who practice independently or in collaboration with other health care professionals, and carry out preventive interventions, treatments and rehabilitation in the areas of motility, of various aetiologies, congenital or acquired.Graduates in Physiotherapy receive proper training in the basic disciplines so as to enable a better understanding of the most relevant elements which make up the fundamental basis of pathological processes. These processes are the focal point of rehabilitation and/or therapeutic interventions in childhood, adulthood and geriatrics, including maximum collaboration with doctors and with other graduates of the same class or other classes of the technical-sanitary area. Graduates are required to use the English language, apart from Italian, in the specific field of study and for the exchange of general information .Graduates in Physiotherapy , with reference to diagnosis and medical prescriptions in their specific field of study, shall elaborate, also in a multi-disciplinary group, a rehabilitation programme aimed at identifying and overcoming health needs of disabled patients ; graduates shall practice therapeutic activities independently for functional rehabilitation of the motility, psycho-motility and cognitive disabilities by using physical, manual, massotherapeutic and occupational therapies; graduates shall recommend the use of prosthesis and braces, and shall give assistance in their use and evaluate the efficacy; graduates shall evaluate the progress of the rehabilitative methods applied in reference to the functional recovery aims; graduates carry out study activities, didactic and professional counselling activities in health care services and in those areas where their professional skills are required .Achieving professional skills requires theoretical and practical training which also include acquiring behavioural skills in work contexts of the specific professional profile, so as to guarantee, at the end of this degree course, solid understanding of the necessary skills and their immediate use in the workplace.
