Qualifying Training objectives of the Master’s degree are: - achieve advanced knowledge of the history of literature and the culture of European and American civilizations in their various expressions. - achieve advanced knowledge of at least two of the European and American languages and civilizations and the theoretic skills required for a comparison. - achieve theoretic and application skills for linguistic and literary analysis, for translations and for didactics in literature and languages. - able to use main computer and multimedia devices in the specific competence areas. - hold excellent writing and oral knowledge of at least two EU languages, in addition to Italian Expected learning results To achieve this qualification students must show that they have consolidated and enriched their linguistic-cultural competences and their comprehension abilities regarding epistemological issues in reference, which ar typical of a master’s level. Students must also show that they have enhanced their knowledge in using the latest bibliographic tools, their understanding of recent developments in research in their field of study, thus showing the ability to elaborate and apply original ideas. In particular students must show: a) an enhanced knowledge of European and American cultures in the various aspects concerning literature, philology, art and anthropology. b) achievement of the required competences for literary and linguistic analysis in an inter-cultural prospective, including literary translations, and the acquisition of teaching methods regarding linguistics and literature. c) In-depth knowledge of the literature of the languages studied. d) good knowledge of computer and multimedia systems and their use. Evaluations of these skill acquisitions will be held, in addition to the traditional test methods used at the end of each course, through exams concerning the level of knowledge achieved.
