The evolution of the classic literary forms in the Italian poetry from Foscolo to Pascoli.

It will be analysed the developments of the lyric genre from the Neoclassicism to the Decadentism, examining some texts of the most important representatives of several literary movements. In particular the focus will be held on the evolution of ode, sonnet and lyric (with analysis of metric and rhythm) to finish with the twentieth-century and Leopardi’s free forms. Together with formal observations, the analysis of the texts will be centred on thinking structures, relation between the author and the reader, intertextuality and interculturality. The course aims to inspire students on the study of poetic texts as communicative organisms, in which the author summarise a weltanschauung, made of complex interpersonal insights that concerns not only the ideal reader but also and above all the real one.
