Prerequisites
A2- B1 level competences (following the European language framework) Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Can deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken. Can produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest. Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
TEACHING/LEARN ING AIMS
The course aims to develop in an integrated way the receptive and productive abilities, in this case either listening and oral or written comprehension, together with the ability to use the foreign language in a flexible and effective way. Finally the language reflection on a morpho-syntactic, semantic-communicative level will be developed and improved.
Contents
In order to make the teaching of the English language a cross curricular discipline in the degree course curriculum, following an interdisciplinary approach, the following issues will be taken into consideration, extracted from the text pointed out in the section "References". TEACHING METHODS
Interactive lessons based on inductive and deductive approaches and strategies. Cooperative learning, learning by discovery, learningby doing.
ASSESSMENT METHODS The follow-up assessment, in compliance with the learning aims aboce mentioned will be carried out by a written structured test, in order to assess reading comprehension and structural skills, as far as level B1 concerns.
