Educational objectives:
The course aims to provide future graduates of the three-year courses with a preparation on the forms and motives of culture in the Napoleonic age in Italy, with particular reference to the most representative issues and authors of the Kingdom of Naples, not neglecting the direct reading of texts in order to develop connections between issues not always considered essential.
Expected learning outcomes:
The course aims to provide a complete picture of the literary forms in Italy in the Napoleonic era, through the analysis and commentary of the texts of Francesco Lomonaco, to ascertain cultural models and symbolic values of the imagination of the intellectual Basilicata.
Knowledge and understanding skills:
- knowledge and understanding of the fundamental nodes of Italian literature during the Napoleonic era;
- ability to read and interpret 18th century literary texts on the basis of linguistic and rhetorical mechanisms;
- in-depth knowledge of the macrotext of Francesco Lomonaco.
Autonomy of judgment:
- ability to contextualize and interpret literary texts of the period;
- ability to synthesize and judge issues related to the historical, cultural and literary context of the period.
Communicative skills:
- ability to relate orally to the texts and critical apparatus in the programme.
