Basic concepts of linguistics.
The course aims at providing basic knowledge in teaching and learning Italian as a Second Language considering the current migratory situation, the national legislative framework and the language and educational policies.

Areas and aspects of teaching and learning Italian as a Second Language. Bilingualism and multilingualism. Use of authentic mass-media materials for the teaching of Italian L2 in schools of all levels. Minority languages in Italy of ancient and new settlement, with particular regard to the Albanian, Arabic, Chinese and Romanés. Intercultural language teaching and mediation for Italian as a Second Language.

Lectures and seminars.
The verification of the learning consists of an oral test at the end of the course, assessed in thirtieths. The verification aims to ascertain the acquisition of the contents described in the study program and is aimed at ascertaining the degree of preparation of the students, their capacity for critical analysis of the topics covered, as well as the level of discursive organization of the exposition.
