The origins and historical developments of the technological and scientific revolution that represented the greatest modern factor of economic and social growth and which produced what is called the "knowledge economy" are reconstructed. In the positive sense, we study the production of economic value through knowledge, considering the cognitive structures and the virtual, logistic and relational integrators that implement the networks of knowledge production and propagation in the contemporary economy. Part of the course will focus on the role of human capital in modern growth and development dynamics.
The course is divided into three parts. In the first, starting from the framework of the discipline, we study its historical evolution in the normative and thinking aspects, as well as in empirical and actual experiments. In the second, the theoretical models of production activities are combined with the codification of knowledge both public and private. The third and final part explores the role of innovation as a strategic force in the knowledge economy era.
