Objectives

Educate future TSRMs on the best approach in the pediatric patient, taking into account the principles of radiation protection

Contents

To know the techniques and methods for carrying out radiographic examinations in the pediatric patient

Extended Syllabus

- The approach to the pediatric patient: notes on cognitive abilities and practical applications in performing diagnostic tests on pediatric patients.
- Biological damage and the importance of protectionism in the pediatric field.
- Positioning and immobilization of the pediatric patient: the usefulness of restraint and immobilization devices, the aids and external help (carers) in the execution of conventional radiology exams.
- Imaging in pedodontics.
- Imaging MRI, CT, RX in the pediatric patient.
- Ultrasound imaging in pediatrics.
