Objectives

The course aims to provide knowledge and skills as well as develop skills related to nutritional, psychiatric, psychological, and dietary approaches applied to Eating Behavior Disorders.
The course aims also to provide to develop skills related to nutritional approaches and the dynamics of the relationship between nutrition and health, nutrition, and neurologic diseases.
In addition, the course aims also to complete the training with notions and instruments that will help the student to deepen the psychological aspects of clinical psychology, as well as instruments for the identification of the psychiatric symptoms in patients with medical and diabetic diseases.

Contents

Introduction to clinical psychology, psychiatry, neurology, dietetics, and application areas. Feeding and eating disorders: etiology, diagnostic criteria, main intervention, and treatments. Individual factors, risk factors, psychological aspects, psychological distress and feeding and eating disorder. Obesity, psychological aspects, and treatment.

Extended Syllabus

Motivational communication strategies; Evaluation of food intake in Eating Behavior Disorders Evaluation of nutritional status in eating disorders; Nutritional Rehabilitation in Eating Disorders; The Role of Dietitians in Eating Disorders; Processing of nutritional therapy in eating disorders; The assisted meal; Re-feeding syndrome; Multidisciplinary approach and rehabilitation. Admission to a center for DCA and obesity. Medical nutrition therapy and Diabetes Mellitus
