Students are required to know basic concepts of mathematics for secondary schools.
The course contributes to develop students' preparatory-scientific skills providing the required analytical instruments for the economic evaluations of any phenomenon related to the environmental sustainability.
The course provides the required analytical instruments for the economic evaluations of climate change and other environmental issues as wel as the policy intruments for sustainability.
- Environmental evalutation: concepts and methods. - Alternative visions of the future. - Property rights, externalities and environmental issues. - Sustainable development: definition and concepts. - The economics of natural resources: an overview.
A useful textbook is: Tom Tietenberg and Lynne Lewis, Environmental and Resource Economics, Routledge, 2018. Further readings for addending students will be provided during the course.
