The course aims at:
Reaching the level C1.1 of CEFR and of metalinguistic competences associated to the C1.1 level;
-Learning how to use dictionaries
-Learning basic translation competences Spanish-Italian and Italian-Spanish
The class is split into two modules:
Module 1 (Language - 5CFU): The module focuses on the analysis and acquisition of the language of economics
Module 2 (Translation)- 5 CFU: The module focuses on the translation (Italian-Spanish) of texts of varying degrees of specialisation in the field of economics. Special attention will be devoted to the development of documentation skills for translation.

At the end of the course, students must:
- have acquired the written and oral production and comprehension skills required by level C1.1 (know-how)
- have acquired the metalinguistic skills related to level C1.1 (being able to explain)
- have acquired the necessary skills to use the main bilingual and monolingual Spanish dictionaries (know-how)
- be able to translate economic texts similar to those analyzed during the lessons from Spanish into Italian and from Italian into Spanish, arguing their own translation choices (know how to do and know how to explain)
In order to access this class, students need to have oral and written comprehension and production skills corresponding to Level B2 of CEFR for Spanish.
The course consists of: (a) classes held by the instructor(s); (b) practical sessions held by the lector(s).
The classes offered by the instructor(s) include both lectures (aimed at providing the necessary theoretical background) and seminars (with students' active participation).
The practical sessions with the lector(s) are highly interactive and are necessary to acquire the language skills level C1.1 needed to successfully complete the final exam.
For these reasons, attendance of both the instructors' and lectors' classes is strongly recommended.
SYLLABUS VALIDITY
The syllabus is valid for the whole 2023/2024 academic year (until the exam session of January/February 2025). For the final grade to be officially registered, students must have successfully completed all the parts of the exam by the last session of the 2023-2024 academic year.
NON-ATTENDING STUDENTS
The syllabus is the same for all students, whether attending or not: non-attending students will autonomously revise and practice the contents of the bibliography, possibly integrating it with the additional recommended reference material.

LECTORATE
It is highly recommended to attend the CEL exercises to achieve the levels of linguistic competence C1.1 provided by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and to pass the final exam.
All the information on the timetable of the exercises, the methods of verification and the receptions of the readers/CEL are available on the website of the University Language Centre (https://cla.unich.it/ ).
EXAMINATION
The exam consists of a written part and an oral part.
It will be possible to take the two parts of the exam in different sessions (always in this order: first written, then oral). It will be necessary to complete the exam by the last useful session of the A.A. 2023/2024 (January/February 2025).
The vote in writing remains valid until the last useful session of the A.A. 2023/2024 (January/February 2025).
To access the oral exam you must have taken the written test.
WRITTEN EXAM
The written exam consists of:
-a test based on C1.1 level
-Theoretical questions on the bibliography
-a translation from Italian into Spanish and from Spanish into Italian
ORAL EXAM

The oral exam consists of:
-C1.1 level conversation
-Metalinguistic knowledge of C1.1 level
