The program is divided as follows:
1. General overview of contemporary Arab countries from physical, demographic, economic, and socio-cultural perspectives; definition of the concepts of "regional system," "Arab world," "Middle East," "Arab countries," and related terminological issues based on geopolitical or identity factors.
2. Chronology of contemporary history of the Arab world with its main events and phases.
3. Sociolinguistic framework of the contemporary Arab world; “registers” and social settings; “substrata”, “adstrata”, and “classical stratum”; Arabic dialects and areal classification.
