The main aim of the Course is to train students with a strong inclination for humanities. Four courses of study are available: Classical literature, Modern literature, Languages of music, entertainment and media, History. A group of basic teaching activities, shared by all the courses, directs the humanistic education, pursued through the progressive consolidation of theoretical knowledge and methodological tools, towards a rigorous deepening of the dynamics of languages, texts and literary traditions (in an ancient, medieval, modern and contemporary key). Historical phenomena and of today's communication are also part of the educational program. The specific characterization of the single paths allows, on the one hand, to lay the foundations of a vocational training in the various reference areas and, on the other, serves as an orientation for subsequent training and professional choices. Among the teaching activities are lectures, exercises, seminars, study support sessions, all accompanied by the technical-operational training of students, such as language, ICT and editing classes (also in specific areas such as journalism and multimedia), as well as internship opportunities at public and private organizations. The interplay between technical-applicative teaching and training activities aims at creating, over a three-year period, professional profiles requiring an effective combination of traditional humanistic skills and modern abilities. This wide and flexible multidisciplinary training – strongly based on historical, linguistic, literary, artistic and philological foundations – can be further adapted to a number of professional areas through programs of specialization offered in second cycle courses. Moreover, the degree program guarantees the acquisition of a significant number of the ECTS required to pursue a career as languages, literature or history teacher in Italian secondary schools, for which a master’s degree is mandatory.
