Objectives

Educate future radiologist technicians on the best approach for pediatric patients

Contents

Know the techniques and methods in the examination of a pediatric patient

Extended Syllabus

- The approach to the pediatric patient: notes on cognitive abilities and practical applications in performing diagnostic tests on pediatric patients.
- Biological damage and the importance of protectionism in the pediatric field.
- Positioning and immobilization of the pediatric patient: the usefulness of restraint and immobilization devices, the aids and external help (carers) in the execution of conventional radiology exams.
- Imaging in pedodontics.
- Imaging MRI, CT, RX in the pediatric patient.
- Ultrasound imaging in pediatrics.

Teaching Methods

The teaching is structured in 10 hours of frontal didactics with multimedia support and/or distant education by online learning.

Evaluation methods

Verification of learning:

The level of learning achieved will be evaluated with a final exam consisting of an oral and/or written test aimed to ascertain the level of knowledge reached on the theoretical contents indicated in the program.
