The Course will focus on six chapters concerning figurative arts included by Petrarch (1304-74) in his Latin treatise ‘De remediis utriusque Fortune’, a masterpiece written between Middle Ages and Humanism. We will read and analyse the texts (full italian translations are provided in bibliography), in order to study both their lingustical features and their historical content. Cultural relations between Literature and Arts in the 14th Cent. will be deeply investigated.
