The class aims at the acquisition of the C1.2 level of the CEFR and the metalinguistic skills associated with this level. It offers an overview of the theoretical notions needed for the text analysis of some genres typical of corporate communication.
The theoretical sessions will illustrate the main concepts developed within the fields of text linguistics (text functions), semantics (semantic relations) and pragmatics (theory of speech acts, politeness theory) with a view to introducing the notions necessary for describing functional variation in texts.
In the practical sessions these theoretical concepts will be exploited in practical activities and exercises aimed at the analysis, composition and translation (Spanish to Italian, and viceversa) of texts belonging to certain (written and oral) genres typical of corporate communication, with particular attention to digital genres.
