Redefine the ethical foundations of social action. Political, economic, social and cultural aspects of global governance. Development processes and ethical objectives.
Values and cultures in Europe Analysis and debates on cultural and ethical foundations in the construction of shared values.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:
The educational objectives of the course are to acquire knowledge on some theoretical models and their applications regarding the understanding of ethical-social issues and social responsibility in a European perspective in order to reaffirm their importance in the behavior of the individual and the group in social work. At the end of the course the students must have a satisfactory competence for each of the disciplinary areas indicated.

THEACHING METHODS:
Frontal lessons. Possible use of slides, movies and audiovisuals. The lessons can be appropriately supplemented by seminar and in-depth interventions, with the participation of scholars, experts and connoisseur of the discipline.

VERIFICATION OF LEARNING:
Oral examination.
The final assessment consists of an oral exam on the entire syllabus. The aim is to assess students’ skills and in particular, an understanding of the issues discussed during the course, an appropriate knowledge of the bibliography in the course programme, a correct command of the specific language as well as critical and methodological abilities will be evaluated. The grading scale goes from 1 to 30 with honours (cum laude): 1-17 fail, 18-21 sufficient, 22-24 fair, 25-27 good, 28-29 very good, 30-30 with honours (cum laude) excellent.
