The teaching proposes knowledge of intercultural mediation as one of the possible areas
intervention for the social worker; as an additional professional tool for diagnosing social needs in the context of immigration and its particular conditions (impact, coexistence, health).
Knowledge and understanding
At the end of the course, the Student must know:
- sociological theory and research of conflict;
- pragmatics of human communication;
- intercultural communication as mediation;
- theory and research on multiculturalism;
- socio-cultural mediation techniques.
Autonomy of judgment
At the end of the course, the student must be able to recognize the communicative origin of conflicts and the "mediability" of cases.
Communication skills
At the end of the course the student will have to know how to use the sociological language of conflict, communication and the technical language of social mediation.
