Educational objectives:
The teaching contributes to the achievement of the educational objectives of the degree course especially with reference to the purpose of acquiring a deep knowledge of the sociological culture and of the methodology of social research in order to achieve an adequate understanding of the phenomena of deviance and crime in their respective manifestations and evolutions. It also contributes to the achievement of the objective of providing knowledge and skills applicable to the monitoring of deviance and crime in view of the elaboration of law enforcement strategies for the development of social security. At the end of the course, students will acquire useful knowledge to frame the phenomenon of crime and will be able to recognize the various theoretical contributions and methodologies adopted in research in this area. They will also be able to plan socio-political interventions, safety management, prevention and reduction of social discomfort, management of policies aimed at addressing the phenomenon of deviance and crime in particular with reference to both perpetrators and victims of crime.

a) Themes and problems of criminology: - Essential concepts, definitions and research methods; - Historical evolution of the discipline and main criminological theories. b) Restorative justice and centrality of the victim.

Teaching methods:
• 48 hours of frontal lessons, of which 4 hours for in-depth seminars on topics of particular interest with the intervention of experts, 4 hours for exercises and group work. • 12 hours of assisted study and revision of the topics covered in the classroom. • 90 hours of self-study. • Overall commitment: 48 hours of lessons, 12 hours of assisted study, 90 hours of self-study.
Learning verify methods
The verification methods will consist of an oral interview in which, through specific questions (at least three) regarding all parts of the program, the degree of knowledge acquired by the student on the topics covered in the course will be ascertained as well as the ability to be able to use critically and to know how to apply the concepts assumed to concrete cases. About halfway through the course an intermediate test is provided with the administration of a questionnaire of 30 multiple choice questions for the ongoing assessment of the degree of learning on the program carried out.
