The teaching is part of the general objective of the course of study, with the aim of providing the knowledge inherent to the multiple business structures and their functioning, based on the markets and the historical development of world economic systems.
Particular attention is paid to the study of the entrepreneur and the management decision-making process.
EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
At the end of the course, the student must be able to:
- recognize the dynamics of the formation of business systems in relation to the peculiarities of the historical periods considered;
- understand the links between forms of business and the market;
- understand the relationships between strategy and structure.
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
- identify the relationship between economic systems and business evolution;
- identify the form of market in which the company operates in the relationship between strategy and structure
- consult the various databases to plan a growth path for the company
MAKING JUDGMENT
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
- -acquire methodologies and conceptual tools useful for developing analyzes and interpretations of phenomena related to business development
- Select the appropriate databases to deepen the research;
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
- use appropriate terminology in reference to business phenomena;
- illustrate and comment with a critical spirit on the different economic contexts in which business systems have developed;
- expose and comment on the major theories on the growth and decline of businesses;

At the end of the course, the student develops a study capacity suitable for analyzing the critical issues of business development in a medium and long-term historical perspective.
