At the examination it will be possible to choose between three 'formats'.
FORMAT 1:
The student prepares 2 PowerPoint presentations in German on 2 topics of his choice from Duden (see directions below). The PowerPoint will be used for oral presentations. Each presentation will have a minimum duration of 5 minutes and a maximum duration of 15 minutes.
The first topic will be historical (a topic of your choice from pp. 83-195 of the Duden. See bibliography).

The student can summarise the content of the chapters of the Duden and can also deepen the topics with individual bilbiographical or sitographic research (e.g. if it deals with the religious aspect in Germany, he/she might want to analyse more the presence of Islam in the German reality).
This will be followed, in Italian, by an invitation to reflect on Italian-German stereotypes, a request for a more in-depth study of an 'untranslatable' German word (see bibliography), a proposal for the translation of a common saying, considerations on what to do in the event of a move to Germany.
FORMAT 2:
The student will present, in German, a historical topic of his/her choice without the aid of a PowerPoint (pp. 83-195 of Duden. See bibliography).
A second topic to be presented (among those indicated in the programme, as well as in format 1) will be chosen by the professor.
This will be followed, in Italian, by an invitation to reflect on Italian-German stereotypes, a request for further study of an 'untranslatable' German word (see bibliography), a proposal for the translation of a common saying, and considerations on what to do in the event of a move to Germany.
FORMAT 3:
The student prepares on Destro's volume, I paesi di lingua tedesca, Bologna, Il Mulino 2004, and asks to be examined exclusively in Italian.
The number of questions, in this case, is variable and at the discretion of the professor.
This will be followed, in Italian, by an invitation to reflect on Italian-German stereotypes, a request for an in-depth study of an 'untranslatable' German word (see bibliography), a proposal for the translation of a common saying, and considerations on what to do in the event of a move to Germany.
