The Workshop provide students with a basic knowledge of the main tools and encoding systems of a text in the field of human sciences, through lectures and practical exercises. A theoretical introduction will illustrate how the so-called encoding or markup or tagging of a text takes place, i.e. the insertion of all the semantic-structural information concerning it. After that, students will have to apply them into a specific portion of text chosen by the teacher.
